Vanguard conducted a study into estimating the value added by a financial adviser through the key areas surrounding portfolio construction, wealth management and behavioural coaching. The results of their research demonstrated the total value added by professional advice was found to be around 3% per annum. So in practice, the benefit of financial advice on a £300,000 portfolio could be up to £9,000 per year.**
